Requirements
  • Experience in hotel management or as an assistant general manager or equivalent leadership role in hospitality.
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate both accommodation and restaurant teams.
  • Availability to be on-site and replace the General Manager when they are not on site.
  • Strong customer service focus with ability to build guest relationships and resolve complaints.
  • Knowledge of local labour laws and ability to apply them in scheduling and staffing.
  • Experience in recruitment, staff induction, appraisals, and training planning.
  • Ability to draw up and manage staff work schedules in relation to hotel activity and local regulations.
  • Ability to consistently deliver brand service standards and culture across the hotel.
  • Proactive approach to delivering operational standards and challenging deviations.
  • Ability to assess business staffing needs and provide solutions in line with trading levels.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and organise the services available to guests on a daily basis.
  • Take responsibility for the Accommodation and/or Restaurant services through implementation of service standards.
  • Ensure sub-contracting contracts comply with quality and profit targets.
  • Manage all teams under their authority.
  • Support staff development and career progression.
  • Participate in recruitment and integration of new employees.
  • Carry out annual appraisal interviews.
  • Contribute to the hotel's training plan.
  • Maintain team spirit and good working atmosphere through hands-on management.
  • Draw up employees work schedules ensuring manpower aligns with hotel activity and local regulations.
  • Apply current labour laws.
  • Continuously analyse actual standards observed against department standards.
  • Demonstrate a pro-active approach to delivering company and operational standards and challenge deviations.
  • Assist General Manager in assessing business staffing needs and providing solutions within trading levels (weekly schedules, holidays).
  • Ensure each new team member receives departmental induction within first week and company induction within first four weeks.
  • Carry out disciplinary procedures and be conversant with Talent & Culture practices such as sickness/absenteeism.
  • Coach and develop staff.
