Goliath Wind OÜ developed the Capella 3, a 3MW gearless, direct-drive wind turbine that uses a patented Cyclos ring generator. Its design reduces weight and costs and uses modular, container-friendly construction to simplify logistics. The company pursued licensing and manufacturing partnerships, including a €100 million joint venture with Steelite Engineering to manufacture Capella 3 in India for Asia. Public records indicate financial distress and possible cessation of operations by early 2023.

What believers are saying

  • Invest in Estonia still highlights the 2017 €100 million Steelite joint venture.
  • The 2026 Steelite site keeps Capella 3 listed, preserving licensing-option value.
  • Estonian registers keep the company active, so creditors or buyers can still transact.

What critics are saying

  • Estonia's registry still shows €22,302 tax debt and two unsubmitted annual reports.
  • Inforegister says Goliath ignored creditors; former CEO Søren Horn Petersen left in 2023.
  • No revenue is reported after 2010, making shutdown or asset-stripping existential by 2026.

What makes Goliath unique

  • Capella 3 uses Goliath's gearless Cyclos ring generator for simpler power conversion.
  • The turbine ships in standard containers, cutting logistics for remote wind sites.
  • Steelite still markets Capella 3 as available on a 2026-updated product page.
