Aviation Project Manager
We are looking to hire an experienced Aviation Project Manager. We offer opportunities to work on a variety of complex local airport agency and private clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years’ experience and hold a PE. The candidate must also have experience designing and managing aviation projects and developing plans, specifications, and estimates for airport agencies and private clients.
Location
This position will have a hybrid work schedule and when in the office could work out of any of the 45 Benesch locations. The following locations have an aviation team and or focus on aviation business development: Atlanta, GA, Denver, CO, 4 locations throughout Nebraska (Bellevue, Grand Island, Lincoln, Omaha) and 4 locations throughout Kansas (Kansas City, Wichita, Topeka, Manhattan), Kansas City, MO, and Nashville, TN. Remote work will be considered.
The Impact You Will Have
- Manage multiple, concurrent airside and landside projects for commercial and general aviation airport clients
- Establish project goals and milestones, defines responsibilities, coordinates resources and monitors project progress
- Ensure the development of high-quality engineering documents
- Adhere to all internal procedures for quality control, documentation and project tracking
- Proactively plan staffing resources, coordinating with other departments as needed
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors and regulatory agencies
- Contribute to other project work as a technical specialist or advisor, as needed
- Markets potential airport clients, in coordination with Aviation Group leadership
- Provide input into the growth of the aviation practice
- Mentor staff
- Actively participate in the marketing process, including proposal writing
- Represent Benesch at industry events
- Active involvement in professional organizations
What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Transportation emphasis is a plus)
- P.E. license required
- Thorough understanding of FAA funding
- Thorough understanding of FAA guidelines, including pavement design Advisory Circulars, pavement design software, current construction specifications, and airport construction safety plans.
- Experience with pavement asset management (PCI studies and other non-destructive testing is a plus)
- Experience related to the design and construction of FAA lighting and Navigational Aids (NAVAIDs)
- Experience with the development of airport planning documents (ALPs and Master Plans)
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Ability to travel (short out of town stays) for remote aviation projects
- A track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules
- Advanced ability to utilize accounting and scheduling software for project management
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
