Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive training programs for employees within the food industry, covering topics such as food safety, hygiene, quality control, operational production and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop learning objectives that align with organizational goals.
  • Learn positions that will be trained on and write technical documents (SOPs/WI) that explain how to conduct tasks needed for positions and update as needed.
  • Participate in manufacturing activities to understand process from firsthand perspective (includes line cleans/tear downs, maintenance or quality activities, general line operations, troubleshooting processes etc)
  • Do hands-on research and obtain necessary technical content from subject matter experts (SME)
  • Translate technical information into clear, concise, and effective documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Identify and own gaps in training content and materials that need updating to generate higher productivity and safety
  • Maintain SOP and policy document libraries and annual review process to ensure processes are up to date
  • Conduct audits on existing SOPs and optimize based on best practices. May be required to audit SOPs across all shifts to ensure all are followed consistently
  • Create OPLs for changes that need to be cascaded
  • Utilize instructional design principles to create engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, videos, and job aids.
  • Manage the administration of the Alchemy Learning Management System, including user management, content uploads, reporting, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees at all levels, both in-person and virtually, ensuring that training delivery is effective and engaging.
  • Assess and coach production team members on the production floor
  • Ensure training matrix for skills is up to date and training program is being managed effectively.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, KPIs, and feedback mechanisms, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Provide recommendations for updates
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to training and development in the food industry.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certifications such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or Certified Food Safety Manager (CFSM) are a plus.
