Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a similar engineering field
  • 5+ years of relevant traffic engineering experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Experience with Synchro 10 and traffic signal operations/phasing
  • Experience with innovative intersection and interchange configurations
  • Experience with the predictive methods of the Highway Safety Manual
  • Experience with traffic forecasting methods
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
Responsibilities
  • Serving as a project engineer and/or project manager in the planning and execution of traffic engineering projects.
  • Assisting in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
  • Conducting traffic engineering analysis and design.
  • Preparing and reviewing project documentation, reports, and specifications.
  • Applying engineering techniques, methods, and design criteria to support project execution.
  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met.
  • Collaborating with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • May assign work to junior engineers or other staff.
  • Depending on experience, may be involved in the mentorship and development of junior level staff.
