Requirements
- Up-leveling the developer experience and tools - developer being the persona that builds with Airplane. This can manifest in the form of novel developer tools and interfaces that supercharge specific workflows, software abstractions that enable new ways of building, or platform capabilities that unlock new functional building blocks
- Designing for operator excellence - operator being the persona that uses the internal tools built via Airplane. This entails defining what operator excellence means, and designing the core "operating system" and the future standards of how work gets done in business software
- Figuring out what the next big thing is for Airplane ✨
- Passion for computational tools and rethinking how software is built
- Obsession with craft and excitement to sweat the design details
- Desire to work with a small team and build 0 to 1
- 4+ years experience in Product Design roles (or equivalent)
Responsibilities
- We're hiring the third product designer to join the design team at Airplane. As an early member of a small design team, the scope of this role will flex the entire Airplane product ecosystem, and will play a critical role in defining the product design direction of Airplane. At Airplane, we put engineers and designers directly on business problems, and you'll be working with a small team on end-to-end product design, roadmapping and delivery. Expect your nature of design work to be "full-stack" - you're comfortable doing whatever it takes to build a stellar product, from conceptualizing to shipping to scaling it
- Some design themes you can expect to work on:
