  • Strong background in product reliability and qualification standards, including JEDEC and AEC-Q100 specifications.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with experience working across cross-functional teams and external partners, including foundries, assembly and test houses, and reliability and qualification vendors.
Responsibilities
  • Work with Design and ATE Engineers to understand and document specification compliance requirements, test flows, test plans, test correlations, and full test coverage.
  • Collaborate with Product Reliability and Package Qualification teams to define qualification test plans, establish detailed schedules, and complete AEC-Q100 qualifications and PPAP activities on schedule.
  • Drive creative solutions to improve product cost margins through assembly yield, test yield, test time reduction, and scrap cost optimization while applying Automotive Zero-Defect Strategy methodologies throughout product design, manufacturing, and sustaining phases.
  • Define and resolve product issues using the 8D problem-solving methodology, including identifying failure modes, affected material quantities, fallout percentages, and overall business impacts.
  • Perform Process/Voltage/Temperature (PVT) corner characterization and calculate associated product datasheet limits.
  • Ensure all aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI) and production manufacturing are established and documented, including hardware, BOMs, costing, MSA/Gage R&R, assembly and packaging records, CP and FT test solution releases, backend record releases, and safe launch planning and execution.
  • Coordinate closely with foundries, planning, program management, assembly and packaging engineering, test engineering, and OSAT assembly and test vendors from tape-out through wafer-out and into production, ensuring prototype package and ATE test solution transfers meet aggressive schedules.
  • Provide real-time customer support for design-, product-, and quality-related concerns.
  • Continuously monitor assembly and test yields, identify opportunities for improvement, establish non-conforming criteria, and ensure timely disposition of production materials on hold by both indie and OSAT partners.

indie Semiconductor revenue hits $64M, up 24% as radar solutions gain global OEM traction

indie Semiconductor reported second quarter 2026 revenue of $64 million, up 24% year-over-year and exceeding guidance midpoint. The company projects 30% year-over-year growth for Q3 2026. The automotive solutions provider narrowed its GAAP operating loss to $35.1 million from $43 million a year earlier. Non-GAAP operating loss improved to $8.9 million from $14.5 million. indie secured multiple design wins, including a radar project with a Tier 1 supplier for Volvo and vision processor wins with Chinese OEMs. The company also launched its iND881 Edge AI system-on-chip for automotive and physical AI applications. Chief executive Donald McClymont highlighted momentum in the company's 77GHz radar solutions with OEMs across North America, Europe and China, alongside growing opportunities in computer vision and AI.

Indie Semiconductor president to retire. Thomas Schiller to replace Ichiro Aoki on the board June 23, 2026 Aliso Viejo-based Indie Semiconductor announced yesterday the retirement of company president Ichiro Aoki effective June 29. Co-founder Aoki served as president since the company's establishment and will transition to the role of technical advisor, focused on his expertise and support. "Ichiro's contributions have been instrumental in shaping our culture and many of the major engineering accomplishments that have propelled our success. We look forward to his ongoing guidance in his new role as technical advisor," Chief Executive and Co-founder Donald McClymont said in a statement. Thomas Schiller, who currently serves the firm as a strategic advisor and previously served as chief financial officer and executive vice president of strategy, will take Aoki's place on the board. "Tom has demonstrated a strong commitment to driving performance, creating shareholder value, and identifying new opportunities for long-term success. The board and I look forward to leveraging Tom's unique perspectives and deep industry expertise," Board Chairman David Aldrich said. indie launches iND881 edge AI SoC for automotive driver monitoring and humanoid robotics perception

indie, an automotive solutions company, has launched the iND881, a next-generation edge AI system-on-chip designed for smart cameras in automotive and robotic applications. The chip combines a Neural Processing Unit, Digital Signal Processor and quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU for real-time perception tasks. The iND881 supports automotive applications including driver and occupant monitoring systems and smart eMirrors, as well as autonomous mobile robots and humanoids. The device features a low-latency H.264 encoder and high-dynamic-range image signal processor with sub-one millisecond processing latency. Built on the iND880 platform, the ASIL-B compliant chip includes hardware security and supports multiple sensor modalities including infrared, thermal, time-of-flight, radar and LiDAR. The iND881 is currently sampling and will be demonstrated at AutoSens and InCabin USA 2026.
