The Role:
Syndax Pharmaceuticals is looking for a collaborative, enthusiastic partner to join our growing Finance team. This role will participate in many aspects of Financial Planning & Analysis and will partner with key stakeholders with emphasis on maintaining transparency with the forecast and managing budget and forecast accuracy. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, thrive on the opportunity to drive financial improvements, work well in a dynamic and challenging environment, have strong interpersonal skills and possess a high degree of accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide increased support in Monthly Accrual Process
- Ensure all POs are properly accrued and provide supporting documentation for material accruals
- Support transition to automated accrual platform
- Research accounting discrepancies vs. budget
- Support PO change process and align with accrual estimates
- Enhanced monthly reporting – Actual vs. Budget
- Lead reporting at PO level to provide additional insight into actual operating results
- Ensure expense are correctly recorded in P&L – provide adjusting journal entries as required
- Support Budgeting / Forecast process
- Support FP&A team with Annual and Quarterly Forecast
- Help develop supporting documentation for material spend
- Manage budget load process and
- Support increase in FP&A support for Commercial
- Support GTN actuals and forecast – aligning with Commercial non-financial data
- Support Co-promotion collaboration with timely and accurate financial reporting
- Increase reporting including key non-financial data (Units Shipped, Patient Starts, TRx, Co-pay assistance)
- Support COGS Analysis - Gross Profit Analysis
Desired Experience/Education and Personal Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of FP&A experience in a business partnering capacity
- Pharmaceuticals or biotech experience preferred; prior experience in drug development activities in biopharma or healthcare industry, including commercial operations in the U.S. and worldwide markets, is preferred
- Knowledge of accounting and finance concepts and working knowledge of US GAAP is required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with bottoms-up detailed analysis
- Strong Excel skills and hands-on experience with financial analytics and modeling
- Strong knowledge of systems and tools for managing a financial forecast
- Strong experience in budgeting and forecasting including exposure to planning and reporting
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Syndax offers a total compensation and rewards package that is among the most competitive in the industry. Base pay is just one element of our package and is determined within a range based on several factors including market data, experience, qualifications, demonstrated skills, relevant education or training, travel requirements and internal equity. Our overall package also includes an equity offering, annual target bonuses, and an outstanding benefits program. The anticipated annualized salary range for this role is $100,000-$120,000.
Location: Syndax has offices in Waltham, MA and New York City and has a dispersed workforce across the United States.
