Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Focus or related engineering degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in structural design.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
  • Proficient in Revit, Structural Analysis Program(s) such as SAP, RAM, and RISA.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, good organizational skills.
  • Good understanding of the International Building Code structural sections.
  • Travel to out of town assignments may be required.
  • Able to make visits to construction job sites.
Responsibilities
  • Sound knowledge of structural engineering fundamentals.
  • Able to use Revit to navigate a model and review and coordinate with other disciplines.
  • Performs work involving the application of all conventional aspects of structural engineering to the functional area of the assignment.
  • Excellent verbal communications and technical writing skills.
  • Conceptualizes the initial engineering design approach for major phases of projects or has production management responsibility for the civil/structural engineering work on a project of limited scope.
  • Resolves a variety of complex problems, including conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements.
  • Ability to prepare a complete set of plans and growing in ability to manage and supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with the project team and other constituents.
  • Prepare schedules; conducts or coordinates civil/structural engineering work.
  • Review plans, prepares/reviews technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
  • Participates in contract bidding and administration.
  • Maintains close contact with the client throughout development of the project design and drawings.
  • Work alongside functional departments to fulfill corporate needs.
  • May be asked to travel to out of town assignments.
  • Project Administration: Billing.
  • Proposal Writing.
