Requirements
  • At least 4 years of professional experience building and deploying software or services as part of a corporate or enterprise security engineering team.
  • Deep, hands-on understanding of the current landscape of cybersecurity tools, including endpoint detection and response, device management, identity, security information and event management, security orchestration, automation and response, and extended detection and response systems, with experience configuring, tuning, or automating these systems via application programming interfaces.
  • Experience implementing or assisting with the implementation of enterprise or corporate security controls such as anti-malware policies, identity and access controls, detection engineering, and device management.
  • Development experience in a modern programming language, including Python, Rust, or Go.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure autonomous and smooth construction of advanced digital twin models of networks.
  • Coordinate communication and signaling between backend artificial intelligence engines and workers.
  • Build data pipelines between Wraithwatch and third-party security products.
  • Perform site reliability operations to ensure customer deployments are resilient and maintain uptime.
Desired Qualifications
  • Interest in modern machine learning or artificial intelligence capabilities, especially emerging subsets of Generative AI such as agentic behavior, tool calling, knowledge graph integration, and retrieval augmented generation.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and learn new technologies quickly.

Wraithwatch builds a B2B cybersecurity platform that uses artificial intelligence to predict, detect, and counter threats, especially those from generative AI, by integrating with a client’s existing security tools. Its self-evolving, agentic AIs sit on top of the client’s defenses and run simulated cyberattacks to uncover vulnerabilities, aiming to cut incident response time from weeks to minutes. Unlike traditional security software, it emphasizes autonomous AI that continuously adapts and augments security stacks and focuses on AI-driven threats, including offerings for government and allied entities. Its goal is to provide an adaptive, AI-powered defense that rapidly detects, neutralizes, and responds to cyber threats, strengthening protection against sophisticated attackers.

What believers are saying

  • February 20, 2026 contract adds immediate credibility with U.S. government buyers.
  • Wraithwatch serves Fortune 500 customers, broadening beyond federal-only sales cycles.
  • AI-generated attack simulation fits 2026 budgets as buyers rush for autonomous defense tooling.

What critics are saying

  • $30 million federal-contract dependence concentrates revenue in one procurement-heavy customer base.
  • DHS and multiple agencies create compliance drag; one program slip can stall expansions.
  • Founders Fund's $8 million seed since 2023 looks thin against Palo Alto Networks and CrowdStrike.

What makes Wraithwatch unique

  • Former SpaceX, Palantir, Anduril veterans built Wraithwatch in 2023 around agentic cyber defense.
  • Its digital-twin platform simulates attacks and deploys mitigations at machine speed.
  • February 20, 2026 federal wins validate mission-critical positioning against AI-augmented threats.

Wraithwatch wins $30M US federal contract for AI-powered cyber defence platform

Wraithwatch, an AI cyber defence company founded by veterans of JSOC, Palantir, SpaceX and Anduril, has secured a $30 million federal contract to deploy its autonomous cyber defence platform across multiple US government agencies. The Austin-based startup's system continuously models networks, computes attack paths in real time and deploys defensive mitigations at machine speed using AI agents that identify and neutralise cyber threats. The platform creates a digital twin of an organisation's environment to help security teams understand imminent network threats. Founded in 2023, Wraithwatch serves federal government and Fortune 500 customers. CEO Nik Seetharaman said the company provides defensive counterpressure against the growing threat of AI-powered offensive attacks, as frontier AI capabilities enable recursive self-improvement and exploit discovery.
