Ferguson is now hiring for an Area Sales Manager. This role is a critical position within the Residential Building and Remodeling segment of our business and has direct oversight of four (4) Bath, Kitchen, and Lighting Gallery showrooms throughout South Carolina and also leads an Outside Builder Sales team of 6+. This position’s primary focus is driving profitable market share growth by providing an exceptional experience for customers (pro, trade, and homeowner), creating a highly engaging work environment for associates, and personally developing and maintaining relationships with professional customers (Architects, Builders, and Designers) and our strategic vendor partners within the territory.
This position will preferably be based in the Charleston, SC or surrounding areas.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute Ferguson’s Residential Building and Remodeling Sales Strategy in our Showrooms and in the field.
- Execute sales strategy in markets with collaboration and input from Outside Sales Representatives, Showroom Managers, and Consultants.
- Mentor, coach, and develop Showroom Leaders, Consultants, and Outside Sales Team including Multifamily and Production teams.
- Engages heavily in event marketing to personally attract and maintain relationships with leading Architects, Builders, Designers and key vendors.
- Accompanies sales representatives on existing accounts and potential new customer calls in the field (cold calling on jobsites).
- Responsible for the overall Showroom experience including associate engagement, elevated customer experience, and showroom assortment and appearance.
- Responsible for attracting top talent for all roles within the marketplace and developing leaders for the future.
- Provides leadership and input for pricing proposals and strategic plans for large customer accounts, including contract negotiation.
- Supervises sales trends, market dynamics, product performance results, and customer preferences.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years sales leadership coupled with 5+ years director or executive level sales management experience in a related industry highly preferred.
- Prior knowledge of Residential Building and Remodeling products and services is highly preferred (appliances, plumbing, and lighting).
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of integrity when problem solving, leading & listening.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work while multitasking on high level tasks.
- Ability to overcome objections, speak in uncomfortable situations and manage customer expectations.
- Familiarity with markets and business units within the assigned geography is a plus.
- Desire to be a hard-working compassionate leader, mentor and motivator of individual contributors and teams.
- Ability to analyze data, develop budgets, implement plans, and deliver effective presentations.
- Understanding the professional customer needs in a highly complex work environment and be able to provide solutions.
- Constructive and empathetic communication skills, both verbal and written, are a must.
- Ability to travel throughout the Carolina markets with overnight travel, including occasional weekends during event periods.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)

Pay Range:

$7,949.70 - $17,325.00

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
