Requirements
  • Demonstrated track record delivering complex, cross-functional programs in technically demanding environments
  • Strong program planning and execution skills, including building and maintaining critical paths, sequencing work, and aligning resourcing to outcomes
  • Strong communicator and listener who turns technical complexity into clear decisions, updates, and next steps for diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to partner directly with engineers to understand constraints, integration risks, and tradeoffs, and to drive crisp decisions and execution
  • High operational excellence and attention to detail, with a demonstrated high bar for quality in deliverables and reporting
Responsibilities
  • Synthesize and maintain a single, accurate view of all software work—deliverables, dependencies, critical paths, and resourcing gaps—translated into a software roadmap that aligns stakeholders on priorities and sequencing
  • Drive execution across Biofire’s major software program areas by working shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers to clarify requirements and constraints, identify integration risks, translate technical work into executable plans, and remove blockers through lightweight operating mechanisms
  • Establish durable cross-functional operating rhythms with Hardware, Operations, and Customer Engineering to coordinate handoffs, surface blockers early, and ensure fast decisions when tradeoffs are required
  • Build and run lightweight intake, status, and reporting mechanisms—including feature request intake—that preserve data integrity, keep work visible, and enable evidence-based prioritization
  • Own and evolve software release management by creating predictable release schedules and feedback loops that monitor release quality signals and publish recurring reporting on delivery and quality outcomes

Biofire makes biometric handguns for home defense, built around the Guardian Biometric Engine that uses 3D infrared facial recognition and capacitive fingerprint sensing to authorize use. The gun unlocks when an authorized person picks it up and locks when it leaves their hand, and either biometric can unlock even with gloves or coverings; all biometric data stays on the firearm with no cloud storage. It is sold direct-to-consumer as a closed system with a portable Smart Dock that manages charging and user profiles. Biofire’s goal is to reduce preventable firearm injuries and deaths, especially among children, by ensuring firearms work only for their owner and by scaling production to broaden safe access.
