Requirements
  • A minimum of seven years of complex commercial litigation experience, including significant experience serving as lead paralegal on high-stakes matters and complex trials.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of assigned litigation matters with minimal supervision, exercising sound judgment and prioritizing competing demands across a full caseload.
  • Serve as lead paralegal on complex matters and trials, coordinating with attorneys to develop case timelines, litigation strategy, and discovery plans.
  • Prepare, finalize, and file substantive pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responses, ensuring compliance with applicable court rules and deadlines.
  • Draft and finalize standard and complex documents, including pro hac vice motions, proposed orders, notices of appearance, summonses, affidavits of service, and subpoenas.
  • Substantively cite-check legal documents and format citations in accordance with Bluebook standards.
  • Coordinate service of complaints, discovery, and subpoenas, and manage all related deadlines and logistics.
  • Maintain and organize electronic case files, including pleadings, discovery, and correspondence.
  • Monitor dockets and proactively calendar court appearances, filing deadlines, and other key dates.
  • Lead document review projects and manage productions using e-discovery platforms.
  • Oversee deposition logistics from start to finish, including preparation and service of deposition notices and subpoenas, coordination with court reporters and videographers, and preparation of exhibits and summaries.
  • Lead trial preparation efforts, including organization of trial materials, witness coordination, exhibit preparation, and in-court support; manage post-trial filings and appeals-related tasks.
  • Maintain confidential and privileged information with the highest degree of professionalism.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, SharePoint, Opus2, Case Notebook, Pacer Pro, Relativity, and other litigation support tools.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior and mid-level paralegals, providing guidance on case management, professional development, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the paralegal coordinator on staffing, workload distribution, and development of training programs and resources.
  • Set team priorities for filings, briefs, and other deliverables to maximize efficiency, meet deadlines, and anticipate case requirements.
  • Serve as a lead point of contact during complex discovery projects, coordinating workflow across team members and communicating with attorneys regarding conflicts and resource needs.

Weil welcomes first employment partner in Germany continuing the expansion of transactional practice. Thursday, April 9, 2026 Weil continues to strengthen its transactional practice by expanding its employment law expertise in Germany. Florian Dehmel, an experienced employment law specialist, will join the firm as a partner from Latham & Watkins LLP and will head the Employment Law Group within the transactional practice in Germany going forward. Florian has been an advisor to both German and international companies on issues of individual and collective employment law for many years. His legal practice focuses, in particular, on the intersection of employment law with M&A and private equity transactions, as well as on complex restructurings and downsizings. Florian's addition is part of the firm's consistent growth strategy in Germany: Since the end of last year, Weil has added eight attorneys to its transactional practice, laying the foundation for a forward-looking, strategic expansion. Top Biglaw firm announces its first female executive partner in history. She hopes to successfully guide the firm into the future. Women continue to soar to new heights in Biglaw, and now one of the top firms in the country is welcoming a woman into its top leadership role. Weil Gotshal & Manges recently announced that Ramona Nee, who currently serves as one of the firm's two co-managing partners alongside Jonathan Soler, will become its next executive partner. Nee's promotion is historic in that she will be Weil's third ever executive partner, and its first female executive partner in history. She will be taking over for Barry Wolf, who will retain his role until the beginning of 2027. At the same time, Soler will become Weil's sole managing partner. Once Wolf retires at the end of next year, Nee will also assume his duties as chair of the firm's management committee. Nee, a graduate of Boston University School of Law, joined the firm in 2002 from Boston firm Hutchins Wheeler & Dittmar. Right now, she serves as co-chair of the firm's U.S. private equity practice and co-managing partner of its Boston office. Wolf shared some inspirational words about Nee in an interview with the American Lawyer: Legal teams ask a practical question. If large language models are so capable, why does legal AI still depend on curated content, and why does surfacing that content matter so much? "The management committee fully endorsed the decision," Wolf said. "There was no acrimony when we made the recommendation. We did it the Weil way: no election, no pitting people against each other, and always thinking about the firm first." ... "[Romona] has risen to the occasion in every aspect of her professional life, dealing with clients, leadership issues and the like. She was not asking for this job. But her loyalty and devotion to the firm, as well as her ability to handle difficult situations, made it an easy choice."
