Responsibilities
  • Consistently exceed agreed-upon new business production, direct written premium, loss ratio, and other annual key performance indicator goals by managing agents in an assigned market and driving profitable growth.
  • Position and promote National General Insurance products to independent agency partners, including personal auto, homeowners, commercial vehicle, flood, recreational vehicle, specialty vehicle, and household package coverages.
  • Deliver the business unit's annual execution plan for growth, profitability, agency engagement, and new appointments in the assigned market.
  • Serve as the key company liaison to independent agencies and industry associations in the assigned market.
  • Work in the field four days per week, maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions, and complete follow-ups in customer relationship management software.
  • Collaborate with independent agents to create agency-specific short-term and long-term strategic business plans and recommend adjustments to achieve results.
  • Use production data and reporting to identify trends, capitalize on opportunities, and address agency-level performance and training or skill gaps.
  • Increase quote and issuance flow in the assigned market beyond the rate and underwriting trends filed and implemented in the market.
  • Consult with independent agents using knowledge of the independent agency channel, competitors, major brokers, and national industry associations to gather market intelligence and position National General products.
  • Integrate products and users with industry technology and comparative rating platforms within the market and assigned agencies.
  • Collaborate with Product, Pricing, and Operations teams to perform stakeholder and risk analysis on market-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain the assigned market's new agency appointment pipeline.
  • Support National Accounts and Alternative Distribution Initiatives by implementing corporate agreements at the local market level.
  • Coach new Territory Sales Managers.
