- Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Operates lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications
- Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment
- Orders supplies with purchase requisition according to work order assigned through Team Leader
- Competent with machinery sequence of operation to locate problem area(s)
- Competent with mechanical fitment, thread sizing and assembly
- Make repairs and modifying Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Methanol and Natural Gas systems
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
- Examines form and texture of mechanical parts to detect imperfections
- Inspects used mechanical parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments
- Repairs and replaces defective mechanical parts
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices
- Lubricates and cleans parts
- Starts devices to test their performance
- Records maintenance actions performed in computerized maintenance system
- Assist other associates as directed by the Team Leader and/or Supervisor

American Axle plans $133M upgrade at Three Rivers facility. THREE RIVERS, Mich. (WOOD) - One of St. Joseph County's largest employers has received incentives from the state as it works to upgrade its Three Rivers facility. American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc. is working on a $132.9 million upgrade project at its facility in Three Rivers, according to a memo from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. The project will include getting new machinery and upgrading its roof, HVAC system and wastewater treatment system. It will also include interior and exterior renovations. The Michigan Strategic Fund with the MEDC on Tuesday approved a 5-year, 100% state essential services assessment exemption, which is estimated to be worth almost $1 million.
