Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree is required.
  • Current pharmacist license in good standing with South Carolina State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Familiarity with USP chapters 795, 797, and 800 is a must.
  • Minimum 3 years pharmacy management experience preferred.
  • 3-4 years of pharmacy experience in a compounding pharmacy setting.
  • Experience with 503b pharmacy preferred.
  • Technology: Familiar with pharmacy software systems and ability/willingness to learn new systems.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations within the compounding pharmacy and supervision of compounding pharmacy staff pharmacists and certified pharmacy technicians.
  • Support scale-up of growing compounding capabilities and act as stakeholder in development of new compounded treatments.
  • Maximize quality and patient safety while dispensing medication in accordance with federal and state pharmacy regulations.
  • Act in a manner that supports standards of communication, respect, privacy, and teamwork; communicate with healthcare professionals, patients, and visitors; address internal/external customer issues/requests; maintain professional image and behavior.
  • Mentor and empower pharmacy staff, fostering continuous learning in their respective areas of responsibility; coordinate with the pharmacy staff for personnel development.
  • Accept change and adapt positively; view new assignments and responsibilities as growth opportunities.
  • Utilize processes and techniques to promote medication safety; develop and execute strategic initiatives for maximum system efficiency and safety.
  • Plan, implement, and assess programs to ensure top-tier pharmaceutical care quality.
  • Use decision making processes and tools to analyze situations and make effective decisions.
  • Create project plans for rollout and execution of new compounding initiatives.
  • Develop training materials and other knowledge assessments; maintain protocols and data relevant to compounded non-sterile products; review/revise/create SOPs; understand Pharmacy Standards of Practice.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced business degree and/or completion of a Residency program preferred.
