5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Systems Engineering, or Infrastructure Architect role with a proven track record of deploying and managing scalable cloud infrastructure
Demonstrable experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Datadog in a production environment
Proficient in infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools, with advanced skills in Terraform
Comprehensive knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, operations, and lifecycle management, including experience with upgrading and downgrading Kubernetes systems
Experienced in implementing observability and monitoring solutions, especially with Datadog or similar platforms
Strong coding/scripting skills (Python, Bash, Go, etc)
Experience working at a software originated company

Responsibilities

Architect and implement scalable, high-availability infrastructure solutions using Terraform and Kubernetes, considering both cloud and on-premises deployments
Regularly review and upgrade underlying dependencies and systems to ensure the highest levels of security, reliability, and efficiency
Serve as the go-to expert for diagnosing and resolving complex issues within Kubernetes environments
Design and implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the build, test, and release processes for container images

As our Senior Cloud engineer specializing in Cloud Native Systems, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the infrastructure that underpins our high-volume, low-latency application. You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies like Terraform, Kubernetes, and Datadog to ensure our systems are scalable, efficient, and secure. You’ll lay the foundation for deploying our software both in the cloud and on-premises environments, balancing innovation with the need to support our diverse customer base.

What you’ll achieve (Responsibilities)

Strategic Infrastructure Design: Architect and implement scalable, high-availability infrastructure solutions using Terraform and Kubernetes, considering both cloud and on-premises deployments.
Dependency Management: Regularly review and upgrade underlying dependencies and systems to ensure the highest levels of security, reliability, and efficiency. Manage the lifecycle of critical tools and platforms, including Terraform and Kubernetes, to stay ahead of the curve.
Debugging and Issue Resolution: Serve as the go-to expert for diagnosing and resolving complex issues within our Kubernetes environments. Utilize deep system understanding and a suite of diagnostic tools to quickly identify root causes and implement robust solutions.
CI/CD Pipeline Development: Design and implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the build, test, and release processes for our container images. Leverage Helm and other best practices for deploying systems to streamline operations and minimize deployment risks.

What we’re looking for (Requirements)

5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Systems Engineering, or Infrastructure Architect role with a proven track record of deploying and managing scalable cloud infrastructure.
Demonstrable experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Datadog in a production environment.
Proficient in infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools, with advanced skills in Terraform.
Comprehensive knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, operations, and lifecycle management, including experience with upgrading and downgrading Kubernetes systems.
