Requirements
  • 5 years of software product design experience
  • Led the initial design or redesign of a product in the B2B space and seen first-hand the effects of your design work on the experience of users and the value of a product
  • Particular strength in experience design, interaction design, systems thinking, and expression and communication of design
  • Proficiency in visual design and experience working with branding and product design systems
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills; comfort defending design decisions in senior groups
  • Boundless curiosity, an obsession with the details, and a growth mindset
Responsibilities
  • Run a collaborative, flexible, and iterative design practice including user research, user experience advocacy, internal and external socialization, and pride-of-ownership in design and user experience of Databook products
  • Work with our customer-facing, product management, and engineering team stakeholders to discover user, business, and technology goals for product design
  • Research design initiatives with our customers and users, explore possible conceptual solutions in low-fidelity, and refine to mid-fidelity through iteration and testing
  • Rapidly deliver testable prototypes and high-polish final design artifacts by leveraging the Databook design system (and contributing to it along the way) in Figma (sorry, Sketch, it's been fun)
  • Ensure visual and interaction design quality in partnership with the frontend development team who work in React, and ensure user experience quality by working closely with the teams creating data products to make sure user needs and data presentation align
  • Partner with Product Management to advocate for design in the roadmapping and prioritization processes
  • Use your expertise in design to ensure that our users love their interactions with our product and that Databook makes their work lives better
