About this role

As a Data Delivery Lead, you’ll be responsible for designing, leading, and delivering large-scale data collection for our AI clients. This work begins by collaborating with clients to structure their project requests, developing the internal team and resources to deliver on these requests, and reporting on project progress with clients and workers. To help you succeed in meeting client deliverables, you’ll have a team of project managers who can support with project progress tracking, guidelines development, payouts, worker communication channels, and more. Where you can bring the most value is through higher-level project structuring, flexible resource management, outcomes tracking, and client communication.

The required skills include strong attention to deadlines, budget management, communication skills, and the ability to balance multiple competing priorities simultaneously. Being a strong team player with the ability to manage a team flexibly with ever-shifting priorities is critical. Given the environment of a rapidly-growing startup, the role requires initiative to build new processes and identify priorities out of the boundless client and worker needs.

Key responsibilities:

• Solution Design: Lead the design and architecture of complex AI solutions. Develop comprehensive solution architectures, including data collection and curation, model assessment, and experimental design.

• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and project leadership throughout the customer solution lifecycle. Mentor and guide junior team members and ensure best practices are followed.

• Project Leadership: Scope down first versions of things, being scrappy, rapidly derisking. Identify the most important bottlenecks and how to solve them. Smoothly oversee many moving pieces and build good project infrastructure. Evaluate, mentor and amplify world-class experts in various domains. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope

• Client Engagement: Engage with clients at a strategic level, understanding their needs, challenges, and business goals. Translate client requirements into robust technical solutions and communicate complex concepts effectively.

• Innovation: Drive innovation by staying current with the latest advancements in AI and related technologies. Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance AI capabilities.

• Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce standards for data quality. Conduct reviews of data and ensure solutions meet high-quality standards.

• Strategic Influence: Contribute to strategic decision-making processes within the organization. Influence the direction of AI projects and initiatives.

• Technical: Ability to review Solution Engineering solutions for project-blocking issues, knowledge of LLMs and AI research trends, XML skills, data quality metrics

What you’ll need:

• Familiarity with project lifecycles, collaborating effectively with clients, project managers and workers.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, showcasing adaptability to evolving project dynamics.

Nice to have:

• Strong exposure to tech

• A basic understanding of writing code so that you’re able to properly interpret project requirements (flexible regarding relevant degrees, certifications, and work experience)

• Previous experience in management and/or a client-facing role

• Previous experience in operations

• Typically 3+ years of experience in AI solutions, machine learning, data engineering, and/or technical project management.

• We value candidates with diverse educational backgrounds. A Master's degree in a STEM field with strong exposure to ML/AI concepts is advantageous, as is a Bachelor's degree combined with relevant work experience. We equally appreciate candidates who demonstrate a strong blend of technical and arts/humanities expertise.
