AMT is currently seeking an Ohio Transportation Practice Leader to expand and lead engineering services in Ohio. While the focus of this position is anticipated to be primarily related to the transportation industry, focus is not limited to transportation projects. This position is ideally located in Columbus but can be located in Cleveland or Cincinnati for the right applicant.
The Ohio Transportation Practice Leader will be responsible for developing business strategy, developing new clients and business, maintaining existing client relationships, recruitment, and development of professional staff, manage transportation projects, and work closely with other offices in the region to grow engineering services throughout the state of Ohio. The candidate will also work closely with our Regional Transportation Practice Leader in setting goals and strategies. Additionally, the candidate will have access to regional technical expertise and resources to support project pursuits in Ohio.
Responsibilities
- As the Ohio Statewide Engineering Practice Leader you will:
- Conduct business development to secure new clients and projects. This includes identifying and tracking pursuits and participating in and/or leading proposals.
- Be challenged to develop and execute a strategy to grow the transportation design business in Ohio, specifically with ODOT.
- Lead and develop a team of experienced and emerging professionals with responsibilities for people management, project management and business development.
- Partner with and provide high quality technical advice to clients on transportation matters and identify innovative solutions to solve real world challenges.
- Be responsible for project delivery to program, budget and quality expectations.
- Retain and manage relationships with existing clients and external stakeholders.
- Lead and serve as project manager of large multi-discipline transportation planning projects.
- Mentor and train younger staff.
- Work under minimal supervision.
Requirements
- BSCE + 15 Years of Transportation industry related experience including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Ohio.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- ODOT Pre-Qualification in a variety of categories
- ODOT familiarity including Having Prior ODOT Relationships
- Business Development Experience
- Experience Leading Transportation Projects (Highway and Bridge design)
- Familiarity and Relationships with County and Municipal Governments
- Effective Communication Skills, both Verbal and Written
