Underwriting Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY
Partner with VP of Underwriting and Regional Underwriting Managers to oversee production and quality of the Underwriting team. Assist offshore underwriters in loan level questions, scenarios, and manage daily production and quality. Responsible for managing relationship with third-party vendor providing offshore resources.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable for driving and maintaining offshore Underwriting Team business results, including but not limited to loan productions, overall quality of loan decisions and escalations
Partner with Post Closing and QC on loan quality and exception mitigation.
Assist underwriters with process and technology questions.
Provide leadership and develop staff.
Partner with other Operations teams to prevent closing delays.
Assess training needs and conduct corresponding training.
Maintain reporting for daily attendance for underwriting staff.
Provide direction to vendor related to performance management of underwriting staff.
Review and approve invoices for vendor services.
Provide timely updates to VP, Underwriting and other executive-level management on an ongoing basis.

Evaluates offshore underwriting employee’s performance and provide direction for any actions in accordance with that performance

REQUIRED EDUCATION
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
QUALIFICATIONS
Related Functional Experience: Working, recent underwriting experience/knowledge required
Time in position: Minimum of 5 years as an underwriter
Demonstrated successful leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain production and quality goals.
Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to partner with other department to get companywide results
Accurate and professional verbal and written communication skills
Critical thinking and analytical skills.
Proficiency with MS Office applications.
Salary Range: $90,000 to $112,000 per year, depending upon experience.
This position is also eligible for an annual bonus based on the successful completion of defined performance objectives.
In addition to up to 9 paid company holidays per year, employees are eligible for up to 6 days of sick pay. Moreover, eligible employees with less than 10 years of service can accrue up to 17 PTO days per year (and up to 22 PTO days per year upon 10 or more years of service).
