  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business or related/relevant degree AND minimum of 4 years of experience as a BI Developer, Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Operations Analyst, Data Engineer, Database Developer, and/or Technical/Systems/Application Analyst OR Minimum of 6 years of experience as a BI Developer, Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Operations Analyst, Data Engineer, Database Developer, and/or Technical/Systems/Application Analyst
  • Expertise with business intelligence tools: Microsoft BI stack, SAP Business Objects, TIBCO Spotfire, Tableau, Crystal Reports, etc.
  • Expertise programming in SQL, Python, R, SAS or equivalent programming languages.
  • Expertise writing relational and multidimensional database queries, database object development, optimization, etc.
  • Strong experience in data warehousing design and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience operating efficiently within the Business Intelligence development lifecycle.
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements gathering, analysis, and verification.
  • Strong experience in planning, designing, architecting, developing and supporting BI solutions.
  • Strong experience debugging, monitoring, and troubleshooting BI solutions.
  • Expertise creating and deploying highly visible reports/dashboards/analytics for business use.
  • Experience leading and managing small scale data and technology projects
  • Experience mentoring and supporting junior level BI developers
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and take action. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.
  • Must be available for support by pager or telephone 24 hours per day x 7 days per week.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and implement analytics tools and data solutions; gather requirements and develop analytics for advanced projects, self-service analytics and business user consumption.
  • Interface with clinical, financial and operational business leaders, subject matter experts as well as Information Services applications teams to design reports, dashboards and analytics that reflect business workflows and drive action.
  • Plan, design, architect, develop, tests and implement new BI solutions as well as troubleshoots, monitors and maintains existing BI solutions.
  • Expertise writing relational and multidimensional database queries that meet performance objectives and business use cases. Expertise with data warehousing design and development methodologies.
  • Strong experience with leading healthcare technology systems such as EMR (Epic), Claims processing (Epic), ERP (Workday), CRM, cloud based data platforms (Azure, Snowflake) etc.
  • Will be seen as a leader and mentor less experienced BI Developers. This person is a key contributor on complex projects and may act as an informal project manager as needed.
  • The individual identifies process improvement opportunities and writes recommendations, process documentation and best practices in a clear, concise manner.
Desired Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare, provider and/or managed care/insurance environment preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in information technology preferred.
  • Holds current Epic certifications: Epic Cogito, Caboodle Data Model, Clarity Data Model, and at least one of the following - Clinical/Patient Access/Revenue Cycle Data Model
  • Experience utilizing, developing and supporting Epic Cogito tools, including Radar Dashboards, Reporting Workbench Reports, Radar SQL Metrics, Crystal Reports, SlicerDicer, Analytics Catalog, registries, etc. preferred
  • Epic certification may be required for the position based on area focus.
  • Employee must hold or obtain Epic certification within six (6) months of employment (including one allowed test retake).
  • Required Epic certifications for BI Developers supporting Epic include: Epic Cogito, Caboodle Data Model, Clarity Data Model, and one of the following: Clinical/Patient Access/Revenue Cycle Data Model.
  • Preferred: The required certifications above as well as additional relevant Cogito certifications or proficiencies such as Clinical/Patient Access/Revenue Cycle Data Models, SlicerDicer Custom Build Badge, Radar SQL Metrics Badge, Cogito SQL Badge, Caboodle-Clarity Development, Cogito Tools Administration, and/or other relevant Epic application certification(s) Microsoft SQL certification, Python certification and/or BI/analytics tool certification (Power BI, SAS, etc) a plus.

AP begins construction on Cook Children's Arlington primary care clinic.

AP begins construction on Cook Children's Arlington primary care clinic. Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP), a national, family-owned construction management and contracting company, recently commenced construction on the interior build-out of a new Cook Children's clinic in Arlington, Texas. Construction is expected to be completed by Jan. 2026. Located at 451 Highlander Blvd., the project involves the first-generation finish-out of an existing 6,734-square-foot, single-story shell building. Once complete, the space will serve as a pediatric primary care clinic with 15 exam rooms, treatment and lab spaces and a waiting area featuring a playroom for patients and their families, along with staff support spaces such as offices, a collaborative teamwork space and a break area. Adolfson & Peterson, Inc. is proud to work with Cook Children's to help bring high-quality pediatric care to more families in Arlington," said Bob Lemke, Vice President of Operations at Adolfson & Peterson Construction.
