Responsibilities
  • Aseptically load and unload all vial sizes involved in the lyophilization process.
  • Perform start-up and shut-down duties for lyophilizers.
  • Join the on-call rotation for lyophilization duties.
  • Assist with aseptic filling, lyophilization, and capping procedures.
  • Monitor processes and report unusual circumstances and events.
  • Assist with mechanical setup procedures in an aseptic environment.
  • Use scales, pipettes, calculators, and other scientific measuring devices to establish and verify fill volumes and check specific gravity.
  • Perform routine environmental monitoring.
  • Learn and apply United States Department of Agriculture and Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service requirements to assembly operations.
  • Document processes accurately and completely in accordance with standard operating procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Utilize the Micromax/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system for lyophilizers.
  • Understand Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition trends for proper lyophilizer start-ups and shutdowns.
  • Respond to lyophilization issues during off-hours and provide weekend coverage for lyophilization setups, start-ups, and shutdowns.
  • Move sterile equipment using practices designed to achieve and ensure equipment sterility.
  • Learn and demonstrate basic sterilization principles and aseptic technique.
  • Understand and use the fill schedule to meet customer requirements.
  • Use the inventory management system.
  • Operate Clean-in-Place and Steam-in-Place systems as applicable.
  • Use the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition/Equipment Work Instructions system as applicable.
  • Assist with laboratory cleaning practices.
  • Identify and communicate work-order issues.
  • Operate fill suites independently.
  • Operate capping equipment independently.
  • Independently perform mechanical setup procedures in an aseptic environment.
  • Assist in updating batch records, standard operating procedures, and job training checklists.
  • Participate in cross-training within manufacturing.
  • Participate in special project teams, including Safety, Right First Time, and Kaizen events.
  • Perform basic repairs, maintenance, disassembly, and reassembly of major equipment.
  • Identify quality issues.

The company maintains a market capitalisation of $31.9 billion.

Zoetis appoints GE Healthcare CFO Jay Saccaro as dual finance chief and COO

Zoetis has appointed former GE Healthcare CFO Jay Saccaro to a newly created dual role as CFO and chief operating officer, effective 17 August. Saccaro, who spent three years at GE Healthcare and nine years as CFO at Baxter International Healthcare, will receive an annual base salary of $1 million, with eligibility for bonuses totalling 100% of his salary and long-term incentives worth $5 million. He will also receive a one-time restricted stock unit award valued at approximately $6.2 million and a cash award of $1.2 million. Current CFO Wetteny Joseph will transition to special advisor on 16 August, remaining in a non-executive role until February 2027 or an earlier agreed date.
