Requirements
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least two years of experience in healthcare customer service, patient accounts, or medical billing is required.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary billing representative for patients visiting the imaging center.
  • Assist patients with billing questions, account balances, statements, and payment options.
  • Establish payment plans in accordance with company policies.
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers to explain benefits, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and patient financial responsibility.
  • Resolve patient billing concerns.
  • Reach out to carriers regarding insurance questions and claim status inquiries.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographic information.
  • Submit, update, and refile insurance claims when appropriate.
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with coding, billing, insurance, and revenue cycle teams to resolve complex account issues.
  • Assist with attorney balance verification and reduction requests as needed.
  • Support medical billing, coding, and revenue cycle functions when applicable.
  • Answer inbound billing calls for Heartland Radiology and other CIVIE clients.
  • Handle inbound and outbound patient communications.
  • Explain account status, insurance processing, and payment options.
  • Escalate complex billing concerns appropriately.
  • Document patient interactions accurately within company systems.
  • Maintain accurate patient account documentation.
  • Perform assigned administrative and operational support tasks.
  • Assist leadership with special projects and other remote duties as assigned.
  • Support workflow improvements and departmental initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and company privacy and security policies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in radiology billing or medical billing.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Experience with insurance verification, claims processing, and revenue cycle management.
  • Working knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology, International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System coding.
  • Experience with patient collections and payment plans.
