Your Mission Are you excited about building highly available, low-latency, performant, large scale distributed systems? If so, you will love working in the UiPath enterprise readiness team. Team owns and delivers foundational services like Identity, Tenancy management, Authorization, Audit, Key management that customers can experience, and other UiPath services can provide is a unified way. We are hiring a principal engineering manager to help us deliver a centralized, highly flexible authorization/RBAC service for our platform that is distributed, and very high scale (billions of authorizations a day) and very low latencies (<10ms), while providing a rich feature set, like allowing custom and user defined roles. We are a tightly knit, fast paced team, on high scale services servicing millions of requests per day, secure by design, iterating fast, learning and growing quickly as a result, passionate about delivering features that architecturally take our service to the next level in terms of scalability, security and performance, and to expand platform capabilities to newer revenue generating scenarios for our services.
What you’ll do at UiPathAs a Principal Software Engineer manager, you will Work with product teams and other UiPath services to build a vision and a roadmap for your product, lead the planning process and execution aligned with the company’s rhythm of business Lead a team of highly motivated engineers to deliver measurable value to customers. Own task planning, estimation, scheduling, and staffing. Directly design, engineer and model strategic improvements to the capabilities of UiPath platform services and drive business outcomes by working across teams and services. Lead and manage incidents, handle escalations, driving effective mitigations, aggressively reducing its live site impact to customers with broad, detailed and effective post mortems. Drive availability, scalability and performance improvements based on learnings from livesite, and generate (or use existing) best practices that are followed and used widely across UiPath. Ensure our technical deliverables meet or exceed the expectations on reliability, scalability, quality and performance, and strive to make architectural changes that significantly moves the needle in these aspects. Mentor Software Engineers to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities. Own, define improvements, best practices, and develop new processes. across the engineering organization.
What you’ll bring to the team- Proven track record (10+ years’ experience) of architecting and engineering world-class, large scale, distributed commercial applications and services, and ensuring customer success.
- Experience leading a team of 5+ engineers for at least 3 years. Experience working with identity systems (Okta, AAD, Windows AD), and familiarity with identity protocols (OAuth, OIDC, SAML)
- Proficiency in one or more object-oriented languages (such as C#/C++/Java) backed by solid computer science fundamentals.
- Familiarity and experience with modern engineering practices, including agile development, CI/CD and devops.
- Ability to work with globally distributed teams. Experience with developing microservice-based HTTP applications and servers.
- Good grasp of multithreading, synchronization, asynchronous, cloud programming.
- Deep understanding of data structures & algorithms.
- Experience with service-oriented architecture and web services development.
- Experience working with or managing production Kubernetes infrastructure is a plus.
- Experience working with cloud providers like Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, etc. and cloud services such as AKS, GKE, etc. is a plus.
- Experience in using database backends (e.g. Azure SQL, CosmosDB, Azure Datalake, PowerBI, MangoDB, MSQL, or DynamoDB, etc.)

Pay TransparencyThe anticipated base salary range for this position is between $187,500 and $281,250. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
