Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited four-year college or university is required.
  • Eight years of experience in the architecture profession are required.
  • Completion of Architectural Experience Program requirements is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Registration as a licensed architect or being on a path to licensure within the next year is required.
  • Proficiency in Revit, with working knowledge of Navisworks and/or BIM 360, Microsoft Windows, Excel, Bluebeam, and Word, is required.
  • Strong architectural design skills and visual literacy are required.
  • Knowledge of architectural codes and standards, including the ability to research code issues, present interpretations, and apply them consistently, is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction techniques and constructability is required.
  • Knowledge and application of sustainable or green strategies are required.
  • The role requires the ability to navigate and move around construction sites, including walking, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods on uneven surfaces.
  • The role requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced architectural assignments using professional architectural knowledge and abilities, exercising independent judgment.
  • Perform most assignments independently with general direction, obtaining technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory oversight of proposed project plans.
  • Perform life safety analyses and prepare life safety plans.
  • Coordinate and check personal work, and instruct, lead, and mentor junior staff to ensure documentation quality and timeliness.
  • Coordinate applicable project discipline drawings, digital models, and specifications.
  • Communicate and coordinate closely with teammates in multiple offices.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with clients, consultants, colleagues, and contractors through clear and proactive communication.
  • Assist in preparing and following design budgets and marketing proposals.
  • Perform construction administration duties, including attending construction site meetings, reviewing shop drawings and requests for information, and preparing architect's supplemental instructions according to contract documents.
  • Maintain established standards, practices, and quality.
