Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of production planning and scheduling experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems and shop-floor manufacturing processes.
  • Solid Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear, confident communication with production, purchasing, and customers.
  • A detail-oriented approach to production scheduling.
  • The ability to work independently while staying aligned with the broader team.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to comply with U.S. Government international trade regulations and access information subject to ITAR/EAR export controls.
Responsibilities
  • Review open sales orders and run enterprise resource planning/material requirements planning reports to sequence production orders for efficient manufacturing flow while minimizing changeovers and downtime.
  • Generate and release manufacturing work orders with the prints, specifications, and customer requirements needed by production.
  • Build and maintain short-term production schedules across cells and lines, balancing customer demand, available supply, and operational efficiency.
  • Adjust schedules as job type, volume, capacity, or conditions change.
  • Determine purchasing needs for materials, including long-lead-time and overseas items, and plan shipments in advance to keep the schedule covered.
  • Apply push/pull replenishment strategies to maintain optimal raw-material levels and safety stock.
  • Identify open capacity and flag it for potential additional customer volume.
  • Support expediting supplier purchase orders when a schedule is at risk.
  • Participate in daily production stand-ups and floor walks to identify process issues early.
  • Run or attend weekly scheduling meetings to align procurement, production, and customer service.
  • Work directly with production managers and operators to resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Partner with engineering, procurement, quality, and shipping to move product through the full production cycle.
  • Communicate proactively with customers and internal teams about schedule status and delivery dates.
  • Build recurring reports that provide customers and leadership visibility into production flow and flag risks to orders.
  • Support contingency planning for demand spikes.
