Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant management experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in long-term care is required.
  • Current certification of competence with the provincial College of Nursing as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • Post-secondary education in nursing, nursing administration, and gerontology is required.
  • A diploma or certificate in organizational management is required.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule resident care activities in compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Maintain an atmosphere conducive to achieving the optimal health and welfare of residents and staff members.
  • Respond to resident or family member concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority or escalate matters to the Administrator.
  • Report complaints and concerns to the Ministry of Long-Term Care director as required.
  • Investigate and complete required follow-up for concerns and complaints.
  • Coordinate the Annual Care Conference Program.
  • Ensure the highest standard of resident care and quality of life through appropriate care plans, effective supervision of nursing staff, required equipment and supplies, appropriate staffing patterns, nursing services, policies, and procedures.
