THE ROLE
We are seeking a Data Migrations Technician to join our successful UK Implementations department. The department is responsible for developing data transition software, for extracting and transferring data from legacy case management systems to LEAP. The department is responsible for the quality of the department’s data transition activity.
The Data Migration Technician will use the data transition software available as well as technical expertise to transfer data from a legacy system to LEAP, and ensure the data is properly mapped and checked prior to the upload into LEAP.
Working Pattern & Location
08:30 – 1700 Monday to Friday, Twickenham Office

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Timely and accurate transition of data from competitor products.
- Reconciliation of migrated accounting data.
- Creation and maintenance of documentation and internal systems.
- Maintenance of data audit checking.
- Written reporting on migrated data.
- Ensure data sets received from client are complete and ready for the transition (e.g., reports, backups).
- Import data into data transition software, to analyse, tidy and ensure it’s mapped to the correct database fields.
- Export data and check that data was successfully imported into LEAP.
- Ensure all financial balances are correct and match to the legacy data.
- Work as a team to check each other’s migrations to ensure quality standards are met.
- Carry out additional services on data migration such as using migration tools to upload client documentation to their LEAP database.
- Liaise with colleagues in client facing roles to ensure they are kept up to date with the progress of the data migrations and respond to data migration queries in a timely and concise manner.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Strong knowledge of MS SQL knowledge advantageous.
- Understanding of database environments and transition.
- Exceptional eye for detail.
- Knowledge / background of bookkeeping / accounting advantageous.
- Knowledge of legal terminology (e.g., matters / unbilled fees, disbursements / expenses, safe custody.
- Ability to identify, manage and mitigate risk effectively.
- Strong problem-solving capability.
- Work effectively within a team.
- Experience working with legal practice management software.
