Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Construction, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry with at least 3 years of specifications writing experience
  • Current Architectural or Engineering license preferred
  • Knowledge of building codes and construction techniques
  • Advanced technical knowledge
  • Experience working on projects in the state of California is a plus
  • CSI certification preferred
  • Business acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of programs
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud and MS Lists preferred
  • Familiarity with specification editing software; proficiency in e-SPECS for Revit preferred
Responsibilities
  • Authoring architectural sections for Project Manuals
  • Managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Coordinating Project Manuals for all disciplines
  • Reviewing and revising project-specific Keynotes
  • Reviewing in-progress drawings for technical specifications
  • Proposing development and improvement of master specifications
  • Attending industry conferences
  • Educating less experienced staff on specification content
  • Assisting with shop drawing and product substitution review during CA Phase
  • Collaborating with peers to develop best practices
  • Maintaining relationships with vendors
  • Supporting Sustainability goals
  • Acting as a mentor to others
