  • UVA undergraduate student enrolled in 12 credit hours or more
  • Experience using accommodations, assistive technology and/or accessible content to support their learning at UVA and/or elsewhere (examples: screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA; captioning; speech recognition; audio recorders; assistive listening systems; augmentative and alternative communication systems; Read&Write; Immersive Reader; alternative input/output devices; other adapted learning environments or content)
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy and compassion
  • Strong organizational skills, including maintaining a schedule and responding promptly to electronic communications
  • Interest in sharing personal experiences with assistive technology and/or accessible content to improve accessibility in teaching and learning at UVA
Responsibilities
  • Attend a Board orientation (about an hour) on a date TBD
  • Attend board meetings (about an hour) roughly every three weeks through the academic year
  • Meet with and/or provide guidance to CTE faculty and staff regarding CTE program content and planning
  • Meet with and/or provide guidance to the CTE’s undergraduate student consultants
  • Provide feedback on learning materials, activities, assignments, tools
