Requirements
  • BS in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering, MS preferred
  • Professional Engineering registration in New York State or the ability to obtain one within 1 year
  • Ability to manage a number of concurrent assignments and priorities and supervise junior staff on project tasks
  • Strong analytical and technical communication skills
  • Familiarity with geotechnical analysis software for stability analysis, seepage analysis, shoring analysis and site response analysis
Responsibilities
  • Lead geotechnical investigation programs including planning, permitting coordination, field implementation, field data collection and oversight including logging of soil borings and rock cores, oversight of in-situ testing, data reporting and writing interpretative reports
  • Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and calculations for tunnels, shafts, support of excavations, foundations, retaining structures, landslide and slope stability, ground improvement, and seismic evaluations
  • Evaluate and characterize soil and rock ground conditions for engineering design
  • Preparation of technical reports and other documents
  • Specialty inspection of pile load testing, pile installation, jet grouting, and slurry walls
  • Managing tasks and mentoring junior staff
  • Review of contractor submittals
  • Work on a variety of office and field assignments
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control procedures are met
