How You’ll Spend Your Time:

• Reviewing individual, fiduciary, gift and business tax returns prepared by staff and/or seniors for accuracy
• Researching and drafting tax memorandums involving complex tax matters
• Identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities
• Handling and resolving tax controversies
• Having conversations with clients to provide insight and individually tailored solutions
• Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines
• Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly
• Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader

The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Active CPA or a Master of Science in Taxation
• Expertise in California taxation
• 7+ years prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting firm
• At least 2 years of detailed tax review which includes experience with 1040s; specifically, in the areas of:
• Employee stock option reporting and planning
• Multi-State taxation
• Schedule C and Single Member LLC
• Complex K-1s and brokerage statements
• Experience working with SurePrep SPBinder, BNA Income Tax Planner, GoSystems and TaxCaddy
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
• Ability to manage multiple engagements, complete projects, spot tax issues and tax planning opportunities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, and strong attention to detail

In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications. California/Washington State ranges are from $115,000 - $175,000
Washington, D.C. ranges are from $105,000 - $170,000
NYC ranges are from $105,000 - $160,000
