Requirements
  • Ability to effectively engage with guests, leaders, and retail sales associates using strong written and verbal communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and box cutter safety.
  • Ability to use power jacks, walk-behind lifts, walkie-aisle vehicles, balers, and compactors.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk throughout the store, and regularly bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Ability to lift products using full upper-body range of motion and perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods.
  • Functional sensory abilities to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and operate equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule and adequate notice to arrange coverage for occasional absences.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels in the fresh-cut department by observing sales-floor and cooler conditions, producing products, and stocking and replenishing products as needed.
  • Deliver outstanding service to all guests, assist guests with finding products, resolve guest concerns, and address service or product issues.
  • Organize and sanitize work areas, shelving, and sales floors as needed.
  • Maintain accurate food-safety logs, meet quality standards, and meet quantity expectations by 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schnuck Markets Acquires Festival Foods

Schnuck Markets, Inc. has acquired 100% of the shares of Festival Foods and Hometown Grocers, Inc. through the 1939 Group, Inc., owned by the Schnuck family. The acquisition includes shares from CEO Mark Skogen and the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. The 1939 Group will maintain the existing store banners and corporate headquarters, with Todd Schnuck as Chairman and CEO. The transaction is expected to close in October, subject to customary approvals.
