Requirements
- Strong functional Payroll knowledge and a minimum of 7 years experience in payroll processing multi-pay groups and tax jurisdictions
- Must have demonstrated ability to multitask, be detail oriented, and provide excellent customer service
- Excellent problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to investigate and identify system issues and problems
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience leading a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, including report writing skills
- Attention to detail, ability to carefully audit payroll records to identify errors before payment is made
- Knowledge of withholding tax, related tax filings, tax policy and employment regulations as they relate to payroll
- Ability to analyze and interpret payroll data
- Understanding of multi-jurisdiction, stock transactions and deferrals
- Ability to handle numerous priorities in a dynamic and growing environment
- Skilled in developing strong working relationships internally and externally
- Ability to prioritize and work to tight deadlines
- Experience implementing payroll systems
Responsibilities
- Process US and Canada bi-weekly payrolls ensuring accurate and timely processing
- Manage monthly international payroll operations, coordinating with local payroll providers and internal teams to deliver pay accurately, timely, effectively, within all regulatory, labor and tax guidelines
- Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate general ledger reporting and reconciliations
- Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous process improvement to ensure efficiency and effectiveness to support the company's growth
- Provide prompt, professional, and efficient customer service to employees who have questions regarding their pay, deductions, and other payroll-related questions
- Ensure payroll processes are administered in compliance with internal company policies, as well as applicable country, federal and state regulations or legislation, including applicable wage and hour regulations
- Provide ad hoc payroll reporting as needed
- Additional responsibilities include management of global payroll service implementations, coordination with teams to integrate payroll systems with other upstream and downstream systems, and leading or participating in other global initiatives
- Assist senior leadership in defining strategic plans relate to global payroll operations, including HRIS/payroll system assessment
- Process equity transactions as they relate to payroll
- Own registration process for new state tax compliance
