Requirements
- A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential is required.
- A valid New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania driver's license with at least six months of experience and six or fewer points is required.
- At least one year of progressive experience in residential services is required.
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and best practices for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is required.
- Experience developing and implementing person-centered individualized life plans is required.
- Familiarity with regulations, standards, and guidelines governing residential programs for people with developmental disabilities is required.
- Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation is required, including managing food-shopping and recreational-activity funds, petty cash, ledgers, and reconciliations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for interacting with supported individuals, families, advocates, staff, and external stakeholders.
- The ability to respond calmly and effectively to crises or emergencies in a residential setting is required.
- Experience maintaining accurate documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and regulatory compliance records, is required.
- A strong commitment to safety is required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee intermediate residential alternative operations in support of the Resident Manager and assume facility oversight in the manager's absence.
- Participate in direct support professional orientation, supervision, and evaluation.
- Coordinate staff schedules, verify hours, and manage sick leave.
- Procure and manage clothing and personal items, oversee petty cash, and maintain detailed expenditure records.
- Monitor staff and provide feedback on implementation of individuals' services, treatment behaviors, person-centered plans, meal observations, community inclusion, outings, appointments, meetings, and daily goal performance.
- Follow up with direct support professionals and collaborate with managers, medication administration personnel, nurses, behavioral intervention specialists, and other staff on medical and clinical care, plans, meetings, and data.
- Follow up on missed notations and communication logs and assist in developing and implementing staff action plans to help supported individuals achieve personalized goals and outcomes.
- Respond to requests from S&Q, centralized schedulers, and DQI surveys, and work with the assistant vice president in the manager's absence.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with program regulations, policies, and standards to uphold quality care and safety.
- Coordinate and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff.
- Collaborate with external agencies, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive services and support.
- Implement and oversee emergency preparedness protocols and procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and reports related to care, program activities, and regulatory compliance.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with supported individuals, staff, community partners, advocates, and stakeholders to enhance support networks and promote inclusive opportunities.
