  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate Electrical, Materials or related Engineering degree program
  • Approaching Junior year or beyond at the time of the internship and Must be returning to school at the end of this internship to continue academic studies.
  • Ability to be on-site in Goleta, CA
  • Familiarity with Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) modeling and simulation tools
  • Familiarity with semiconductor materials and devices, and device fabrication
  • Hands-on electrical device test and measurement skills
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data.
  • >3.0 GPA
Responsibilities
  • Design and test infrared meta-material designs supporting development of next generation imaging systems
  • Develop imaging concepts and applications for implementing metamaterial designs
  • Work closely with a mentor to learn and hone your technical skills
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior internship experience in Electrical, Materials or related Engineering
  • Experience with semiconductor wafer processing photolithography and mask layout tools
  • Knowledge of electronic test equipment including Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer, oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.
