Consumer-focused privacy company Cloaked raises $375 million to expand into enterprise.

Consumer-focused privacy company Cloaked raises $375 million to expand into enterprise. By March 19, 2026 No Comments 4 Mins Read Consumer-grade security tools often focus on one type of measure, such as password protection, VPN, or identity management. Because of this, people need to use multiple tools to protect their data privacy. Cloaked, a company that offers a bundle of alternative security and privacy solutions, announced Thursday that it has secured $375 million in Series B funding and growth funding to expand its consumer offerings and enter the enterprise market. The company was founded in 2020 by brothers Arjun and Abhijay Bhatnagar and initially offered users the ability to create multiple identities and log into various services using data such as emails, phone numbers, passwords, etc. without providing any actual data. Over the years, Cloaked has rolled out other services such as data deletion, identity theft insurance, VPN, and dark web monitoring. Last year, the company introduced AI-powered call screening. In a world where hackers and fraudsters can now use AI to obtain data and money in novel ways, Cloaked sees an opportunity to protect consumers. "We have seen that AI is more capable of compromising individuals than humans, and we see this as an issue of personal safety, family safety, and financial fraud. [AI proliferating] Regarding fraudulent spam and phishing. And in this era of surveillance, how do you find a solution that fits between these different aspects, and we are winning in this category from the consumer side," said Arjun Bhatnagar, CEO of the company. This year, the company plans to expand its AI-powered screening protections to texting, email, and browsing. FySelf Functionalities is also testing an AI agent that can perform actions on behalf of users, such as changing passwords for services whose data has been compromised. Bhatnagar said the plan is to use AI in a secure manner and not pass sensitive information to the cloud. The company told TechCrunch that it has grown 10x in the last year and now has more than 350,000 paying customers. FySelf Functionalities also secured 10 million identities and helped users clean over 1 billion records from data broker sites. Bhatnagar said the app has handled over 50 million scam or spam calls since it launched its call screening feature last year. Cloaked is now being rolled out to enterprises, providing employees with the same protections found in consumer products, including ID and password management. This product alerts employees to potential fraud. In addition, corporate CISOs can see individual risk levels and see aggregate data on records cleaned and fraud thwarted. And you can see that there may be fraud or data that can affect your company's business. The startup has nearly 70 employees and aims to grow its team in various areas including product, engineering, enterprise sales, and international expansion. Cloaked competes with 1Password, Gaurdio, Firefox, Proton, Mozilla, and more. The company also has some products that overlap with one of its investors, DuckDuckGo, which offers VPN and identity theft protection. The latest round was led by General Catalyst and Liberty City Ventures, with participation from Lux Capital, Human Capital, Marquee Ventures, Fifth Growth Fund, NFL Players Association, LG Technology Ventures, Assurant Ventures, and DuckDuckGo. General Catalyst also provided growth capital through its Customer Value Fund, which provides capital to startups without diluting capital to accelerate customer acquisition. The startup did not disclose its valuation or the split between equity and growth capital. Prior to this, Cloaked had raised over $29 million in funding from investors including Lux Capital, Human Capital, and General Catalyst. Mark Crane, a partner at General Catalyst, said the company has invested in startups in all previous rounds, but this is the first time it has led a round. He said Cloaked's suite of security and privacy products is suitable for a wide range of consumers. Crane believes Cloaked has the right product to protect people and businesses in the new AI-driven internet, and will be a great "housekeeping stamp of approval" for users in a world with many AI agents. "In terms of product, they've built a ton of surface area for consumers and things they want to use for privacy," he told TechCrunch by phone. "Some people want to use everything right out of the box, and some people want to use a small part. And the benefit of Cloaked is that any consumer can approach whatever they're interested in and get the solution they want and need."

1Password launches Unified Access Platform to help companies securely deploy AI agents.

1Password launches Unified Access Platform to help companies securely deploy AI agents. Ben 03/18/2026 0 28 4 minutes read 1Password, a leader in identity security, today announced 1Password(R) Unified Access, a new agent security platform that enables organizations of all sizes to securely deploy AI agents and automated workflows without losing control of credentials, secrets, and machine identities. As AI systems move into production and take real action across enterprise environments, Unified Access gives AI builders the ability to discover, secure, and audit access at the moment it occurs. Unified Access Pro is generally available today. Unified Access is built on a clear operating model: discover existing agents and credentials, secure them and continuously authorize access, and audit every action across human and AI agent identities.Share At launch, 1Password is collaborating with Anthropic, Cursor, GitHub, Perplexity, and Vercel, as well as other category leaders in AI infrastructure, AI developer tools, MCP gateways, and AI browsers, delivering security where builders operate and get work done. "Agents are now operating inside real production environments," said David Faugno, CEO of 1Password. "1Password is deployed on millions of endpoints and protects over 1.3 billion credentials and secrets. As the platform organizations rely on to initiate secure access to applications and infrastructure worldwide, we are uniquely positioned to address the identity and access challenges introduced by agents and machine workloads. Unified Access provides the control plane organizations need to scale AI safely." Unified Access: Discover. Secure. Audit. Identity is no longer a one-time authentication challenge. Over the past decade, SaaS accelerated decentralized software adoption, and single sign-on improved control at login, but neither addressed how credentials are used after authentication. Today, employees deploy agents that call APIs and execute workflows on their behalf, expanding risk to the secrets and tokens used programmatically across modern environments. Discover more Video game Best video game consoles Unified Access is built on a clear operating model: discover existing agents and credentials, secure them and continuously authorize access, and audit every action across human and AI agent identities. Unified Access enables security teams to: * Discover (available now) AI tools and agent activity across endpoints, browsers, and local environments, identify exposed credentials and secrets such as unencrypted SSH keys and plaintext .env files, and map AI usage to specific users and devices. * Secure (available now) exposed secrets with one-click vaulting, govern human, agent, and machine credentials in a unified vault, and apply controls to high-risk or shared accounts. * Audit (coming soon) with end-to-end visibility into credential access across human and non-human activity, with clear records of which credential was used, when, by which identity, and under whose authority. Later this year, 1Password will expand Unified Access to issue scoped credentials to agent and machine workloads at runtime, further reducing persistent access and strengthening governance as AI-driven automation scales. Ecosystem Collaboration Across AI and Developer Platforms Unified Access launches with collaborations across foundation model development, AI infrastructure and storage, AI developer tools, and AI browsers. * Foundation model provider Anthropic will integrate 1Password to securely autofill vault items through the Claude browser extension, Cowork, and Claude Code, allowing Claude to log in to sites and services with a user's consent by filling credentials directly from 1Password. * Foundation model provider OpenAI collaborates with 1Password to enable theuse of local 1Password vault items and developer IDEs, providing best-in-class security for AI-driven productivity and development workflows. * AI developer tools Cursor, GitHub, and Vercel integrate with 1Password to secure developer workflows across IDEs, cloud sandboxes, and CI/CD pipelines, with hooks now available for the Cursor agents and GitHub Actions. Discover more Video games Gaming Podcast * AI and cyber resilience infrastructure provider Commvault and 1Password are exploring ways to connect credential hygiene with resilience workflows so that SecOps and IT teams can jointly identify exposed credentials faster, take targeted remediation actions, and recover cleanly while re-establishing trusted data and identity systems. * Agent control plane provider Runlayer integrates 1Password to securely inject credentials into the agent sessions it manages, giving enterprises centralized governance over how AI agents access sensitive tools, resources, and context. MCP gateway provider Natoma integrates 1Password to securely inject 1Password credentials into the agent sessions it manages, simplifying workflows for AI builders and reducing secrets sprawl. * AI Browsers Anchor Browser, Browserbase, KERNEL, and Perplexity Comet integrate with 1Password to protect AI agent secrets across browsers and runtimes access via concepts like just-in-time access, least-privilege controls, and auditability of the actions taken on a user's behalf. "As agentic coding tools become part of how modern teams build and ship software, security needs to integrate directly into the developer workflow," said Talha Tariq, CISO at Vercel. "Through our partnership with 1Password, we're making it easier for developers to access credentials securely within the tools and environments they already use, so they can move quickly without compromising on sound security practices." "Runlayer is the agent control plane for the enterprise, providing the security, governance, and observability organizations need to deploy AI agents in production with confidence," said Andrew Berman, CEO at Runlayer. "As agents take real action across enterprise systems, credential management becomes a critical control surface. By integrating with 1Password, we're ensuring that every agent session Runlayer manages has secure, auditable access to the credentials it needs, and nothing more. When security is built into the foundation, organizations stop treating AI adoption as a risk to manage and start treating it as a capability to accelerate." "As enterprises begin to offload work from humans to AI, agents are going to require secure, scalable access to the same credentials and related resources people rely on," said Stephen O'Grady, Principal Analyst at RedMonk. "This is the challenge 1Password's Unified Access Platform was built to address." "AI adoption is reshaping our threat model," said Heather Cannon, Director of Security at DigitalOcean. "As an Agentic Inference cloud serving digital and AI native enterprises, we're seeing AI agents become part of everyday workflows. For DigitalOcean, it's no longer only about individuals mishandling credentials. We need clear visibility into which AI systems are operating across our environment. Using Unified Access helps us better understand and govern AI usage to reduce shadow AI risks and securely scale AI adoption." About 1Password 1Password is redefining identity security for how people and AI agents work today. 1Password Users API for Partners helps automate identity response during incidents.

1Password Users API for Partners helps automate identity response during incidents. 1Password has announced the public preview of Users API for Partners, which allows security teams to respond to incidents faster during active security events. Launch partners like CrowdStrike, in addition to BlinkOps, Elastic, Sumo Logic, Tines, and Torq enable mutual customers to automatically suspend or restore users in 1Password Enterprise Password Manager when risk is detected. As part of this launch, 1Password is introducing api.1password.com as a unified access point for its APIs, with standardized OAuth-based authentication, beginning with the Users API for Partners. "As security operations accelerate with AI-driven detection and automation, the window between identifying risk and containing it continues to shrink," said John Torrey, Chief Business Officer at 1Password. "It's no longer enough to simply observe risk. Security teams need the ability to adjust access in the moment, including the credentials and secrets that persist beyond authentication. Users API for Partners allows 1Password to participate directly in automated remediation, enabling teams to orchestrate access changes directly in 1Password. We believe the secrets layer is a critical and often under-addressed surface in the identity ecosystem, and this launch reflects our commitment to integrating it responsibly into modern response systems," Torrey continued. Moving from identity detection to identity response. Detection and alerts occur in real time, but responses often require separate manual steps. Behind every alert is an identity: a person, a service account, an API key, or an AI agent. If you can't quickly confirm or remove that access, your organization remains exposed. With Users API for Partners, SOC teams can execute programmatic user actions within automated workflows to suspend or restore users in 1Password as part of a SOC-driven response. This shifts 1Password from a visibility layer to a response and enforcement point within the broader security stack, helping SOC teams reduce exposure time and act on risk with greater speed and consistency. New oauth-based API lets partners build security automation integrations. The Users API for Partners introduces OAuth 2.0-based authentication designed for secure, enterprise-grade security. Partners can now build with 1Password Enterprise Password Manager and use delegated, scoped authorization to list users, suspend access when risk is detected, and restore access after remediation. Helping security teams contain risk faster during active incidents. Working with CrowdStrike, as well as BlinkOps, Elastic, Sumo Logic, Tines, and Torq, 1Password enables mutual customers to connect 1Password Enterprise Password Manager into existing SOC workflows to manage risk. Together, these capabilities allow organizations to: * Automate identity response workflows: Reduce manual intervention by embedding identity actions programmatically into coordinated security processes, accelerating containment during high-risk incidents. * Strengthen governance: Orchestrate enforcement of access policies in alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements. * Maintain audit-ready visibility: Maintain clear audit trails of what actions were taken, when they occurred, and which events triggered them. "Security teams shouldn't have to choose between speed and control during an incident," said Chris Stewart, VP, Global Technology & Marketplace Ecosystem Partners at CrowdStrike. "By integrating 1Password with Falcon Fusion SOAR workflows, organizations can incorporate identity actions like suspending user access into automated response processes when risk is detected. This helps close the gap between detection and containment, reducing exposure and enabling security teams to respond faster with the right context." "Our customers use Tines to turn signals from across their technology stack into coordinated action," said Charlie Ardagh, VP of Strategic Partnerships at Tines. "With 1Password integrated into those workflows, identity access can adapt as risk changes. Teams can respond with the right context and consistency without slowing down." "Identity is central to prioritizing and responding to threats at speed and scale," said Eldad Livni, Chief Innovation Officer at Torq. "By integrating the Torq AI SOC Platform with 1Password Enterprise Password Manager, Torq combines agentic investigation with automated response so teams can quickly move from detection to identity enforcement. Security teams gain the insight to understand what's happening and the automation to immediately suspend or restore access, reducing mean time to respond while maintaining full visibility, control, and auditability."
