Requirements
  • A solid foundation in computer science
  • Minimum 3-5 years in a data-oriented leadership or management role
  • At least 8 years of experience in software development
  • Experience leading teams of 3 engineers or more
  • Knowledge of Python and at least 1 compiled language like Java, Go, or Elixir
  • Experience with Kafka, Pub/Sub, or some other streaming platform
  • Understanding of tools like Airflow to orchestrate data pipelines
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Some experience overseeing the development CI/CD pipelines for Machine Learning projects
  • Skilled in testing and validating code, data, data schemas, and models
Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the data engineering team
  • Liaise with product management and other engineering teams to bring a new data science solution to life
  • Prioritize and manage data-related projects cross-functionally from inception to delivery
  • Help with hiring initiatives across the product and engineering departments
  • Collaborate with the team to define, track, and meet SLOs
  • Stay current with trends, techniques, technology impacting data engineering
