  • Prior experience/internship interacting with C-suite or senior executives either internally or externally
Responsibilities
  • Research: Interns will be responsible for compiling lists of prospective acquisition targets and their owners/executives using various databases and internet research. They will also segment and pre-qualify prospects based on their learnings to aid in prioritization of outreach campaigns. These efforts will help Interns develop a strong understanding of industries and market trends.
  • Outreach: Interns will be responsible for creating and executing outbound strategies with the result of engaging business owners in a discussion to sell. This will be a combination of cold emailing, cold calling and other creative outreach to C-suite professionals. Once ramped, successful Interns will complete up to 200 cold calls & emails, engage 25+ businesses, and hold 8+ introductory conversations in a single week. Our deal-sourcing tech stack supports high volumes of quality outreach to our target universe.
  • Qualification: Interns are responsible for pitching the benefits of joining forces with Alpine and our portfolio companies, while also gathering information to assess whether a prospect will be a fit for our investment strategy. This happens during an introductory conversation that takes place over the phone or Zoom. Interns will need to establish rapport and trust with business owners in order to extract the information needed for our analysis and get the prospective firm to commit to taking the next step in our investment process.
  • Evaluation: After engaging with a business owner, Interns will conduct the initial evaluation of the investment opportunity against our target scorecard. This includes summarizing the learnings, identifying remaining question areas, and pitching the potential deal to our internal team. A strong understanding of Alpine’s investment criteria will be required. Interns will develop their own investing judgement and have the opportunity to shape our investment criteria as they build expertise in a given market.
