Requirements
  • An earned doctorate in Public Health (Ph.D. or DrPH) or a closely related field before the employment start date
  • An MPH degree and/or an earned DrPH from a school of public health or public health program accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH)
  • A strong potential for or record of academic scholarship as demonstrated by research publications and ability to secure extramural research funding
  • A commitment to and potential for teaching excellence in areas related to public health, community health, or health education/promotion
  • Potential for or history of active service participation and/or leadership roles in campus, community, and professional organizations
  • A strong interest in working in a team to grow CEPH-accredited concentrations and programs
  • The ability to work collegially and effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to public health; mentor master’s and doctoral students; engage in scholarly research, including publishing research and applying for external research funding; engage in multidisciplinary collaborations; participate in service activities within the department, college, university, and profession; work in a team to help grow new public health programs.
  • Regular and reliable in-person attendance during regularly scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
Desired Qualifications
  • Expertise and research interest in women’s health, rural health, aging issues, epidemiology, chronic disease prevention, health equity, community health, physical activity, or nutrition
  • A strong interdisciplinary and collaborative research record
  • Experience working in a multicultural setting
  • Experience recruiting and retaining undergraduate and graduate students
  • Valid and current CHES®, MCHES®, and/or CPH certification
  • Experience with acquiring and maintaining CEPH accreditation.
