  • Hold a Master’s or doctoral degree in public health from a CEPH-accredited School of Public Health or Program Health Program (attained by August 1, 2025)
  • Have effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Be prepared to teach on-ground public health courses in a variety of topic areas at the undergraduate level

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Applied Practice Experiences (internships, practicum, and public health experience hours) for undergraduate and graduate students, both on-campus and online.
  • Serve as the primary contact for current and prospective APE sites, maintaining communication with preceptors and students throughout placements.
  • Guide students in identifying and securing APE opportunities, reviewing and approving internship work plans, and evaluating both student and preceptor feedback.
  • Continually seek and establish new internship opportunities at local, state, and national levels.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors to refine APE processes and systems in alignment with workforce needs and accreditation standards.
  • Monitor students' progress toward APE completion and notify the team of any issues.
  • Facilitate internship site agreements and handle related legal concerns.
  • Maintain APE-related information, manage data collection for accreditation, and prepare reports for Program Directors and other oversight committees.
  • Represent the college in public health events and community engagements, fostering connections with alumni and community partners.
  • Identify and pursue new community engagement opportunities and applied practice experiences for students.
  • Promote public health programs at local, regional, and national events as needed.
  • Teach the Applied Practice Experience and Professionalism courses, including managing eLearning sites, updating syllabi, enforcing course policies, grading, and finalizing grades.
  • Ensure students meet program competencies and accreditation requirements, provide additional support where needed, and review and approve final portfolio work products.
  • Teach 3 courses each semester in a wide range of public health topics, including but not limited to Epidemiology, Program Planning and Evaluation, and Biological Foundations of Public Health.
  • Provide academic and career advising to undergraduate Public Health majors.
