Requirements
  • BA/BS Degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of hand-on industry experience in Software Development and 3+ years of Managerial experience
  • Experience programming in object-oriented languages such as Java, C++, Python, Go, Rust, C# and/or Functional languages such as Scala or other relevant coding languages.
  • Hands on experience developing distributed systems, databases, large scale data systems and/or Backend API's
  • Knowledge in Kubernetes, host networking and host TCP tuning
  • Experience with Network management, configuration generation and provisioning systems and tools (Ansible, REST/gRPC, NETCONF, Jenkins, Puppet, YANG, OpenConfig, etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Provide organizational leadership by guiding multiple engineering teams in building, scaling, and delivering software products from conceptualization through deployment, ensuring alignment with company-wide objectives.
  • Lead a team of software engineers and enable them to orchestrate the development of software products from conceptualization to deployment.
  • Align with the organizational vision and provide technical insights to the team, recommending developments and continuous improvements to tools used in infrastructure observability.
  • Support your team with design reviews and recommendations, leveraging your network domain expertise and programming skills.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop a long-term technology roadmap.
  • Manage the performance and career development of a mid-sized team of engineers, overseeing significant parts of production network engineering products that require design, architecture, and coding.
  • Strategically influence discussions within your team and with partner teams.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of projects, including architecture design, code quality, and the integration of new technologies.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and facilitate career development plans for team members.
  • Produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and regularly checked in for continuous integration.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the team.
  • Work with peers across teams to support and leverage a shared technical stack.
Desired Qualifications
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of hands-on software engineering/technical management and people management experience
  • 7+ years industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.
  • Experience in Development of Observability Platforms for Infrastructure.
  • Experience in architecting, building, and running large-scale distributed systems
  • Experience with industry, opensource, and/or academic research in technologies such as Hadoop, cccccSpark, Kubernetes, Feather, GraphQL, GRPC, Apache Kafka, Pinot, Samza or Venice
  • Experience with open-source project management and governance

Tracker launches LinkedIn Hiring Assistant integration with AI-powered candidate evaluations

Tracker, an AI-native applicant tracking system for staffing and recruiting agencies, has become one of the first ATS platforms to launch LinkedIn's RSC+ integration, enabling Connected Projects for LinkedIn Hiring Assistant customers. The integration allows Tracker customers to receive AI-powered candidate evaluations using combined LinkedIn and Tracker data across all applicants, regardless of source. Insights sync to Tracker in real-time, creating unified shortlists and accelerating hiring decisions. LinkedIn research shows recruiters using Hiring Assistant save four or more hours per role. Early testing showed significant results, with one customer saving 15 hours weekly per recruiter on applicant evaluation. Future updates will include real-time bidirectional applicant stage syncing between platforms.

Oyster raises $150M Series C at $1B+ valuation to power distributed hiring in 180+ countries

Oyster, a global employment platform, has raised $150 million in Series C funding at a valuation exceeding $1 billion. Georgian led the round, joined by Salesforce Ventures, LinkedIn, Base10 Partners Advancement Initiative and others, including existing investors Stripes and Emergence Capital. The funding makes Oyster a unicorn less than two years after launch and one of the few B Corporations to reach this milestone. In 2021, the company grew revenue by over 20-fold and the number of team members on its platform by 17 times. The platform now pays more than $200 million annually to global talent across over 180 countries, with 25 per cent of that talent in emerging economies. Oyster has raised $227 million total and will use the funding to develop its platform and invest in the People Ops community.

LinkedIn launches AI skills certificates through partnerships with Descript, Lovable, and Replit

LinkedIn has launched a new partnership programme allowing users to earn official certifications in AI skills based on their usage of prominent AI applications. The programme includes Descript, Lovable, Replit and Relay.app, with GitHub, Gamma and Zapier set to join soon. The platforms will use AI to assess users' proficiency through usage patterns, product outcomes and skill levels within the tools, generating certificates that appear on LinkedIn profiles. Microsoft-owned LinkedIn did not specify exact qualification requirements. The move responds to growing demand for AI skills in the job market. According to eDX, job postings requiring AI skills doubled in the 12 months to August, whilst Indeed reported that 4.2% of US job postings mentioned AI-related keywords by end-2025.
