Requirements
  • An Associate's degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification is required within 90 days of employment.
  • A state-specific Physical Therapist Assistant license is required for the applicable work location: Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Missouri Division of Professional Registration, Oklahoma Medical Board, or Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
  • The role requires constant standing; frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, walking, reaching, gripping, keyboard use, and data entry; occasional patient lifting or moving and other listed physical activities; and occasional driving.
  • The position requires maintaining alertness and working safely.
Responsibilities
  • Provide physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.
  • Perform therapy interventions using techniques and skills appropriate for the patient population.
  • Document treatment interventions provided.
  • Coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students, and other support personnel when needed.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
