Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • At least five years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Advanced knowledge of admissions principles is required.
  • Supervisory experience is required.
  • Experience developing detailed protocols and managing complex processes is required.
  • Experience making data-informed decisions is required.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience developing and interpreting enrollment and academic data reports, are required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, customer service, attention-to-detail, organizational, relationship-building, confidentiality, prioritization, and independent-working skills are required.
  • The ability to anticipate emerging needs, lead through ambiguity and competing priorities, build collaborative relationships, and apply systems thinking to workflows, policies, processes, data, and people is required.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Admissions Office, including daily supervision of five staff members and formal managerial responsibility for two staff members.
  • Design and improve processes and manage admissions operations, including quality-control measures, export control, and compliance training.
  • Manage accurate end-to-end admissions processing from prospective inquiry through decision release and matriculation.
  • Develop and maintain recurring reports; analyze reports and metrics to monitor enrollment, admissions, and recruitment trends; and recommend strategies to improve yields.
  • Support the development of data-informed recruitment and marketing plans; conduct data-needs assessments; and evaluate activities to recommend operational enhancements.
  • Work with the Assistant Directors and Director of Admissions on strategic planning and initiatives to recruit and yield public health talent globally.
  • Plan, budget, and execute on-campus, off-campus, and virtual recruitment and yield activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on digital marketing and recruitment opportunities and represent Harvard Chan School at recruitment and yield events.
  • Counsel prospective applicants and students regarding degree offerings, application processes, and enrollment requirements.
  • Review admissions decisions on behalf of the Committee on Admissions and Degrees when needed.
  • Manage admissions technology, including customer relationship management systems, automated email campaigns, online applications, decision notifications, admitted-student websites, and portals.
  • Serve as lead administrator for assigned systems; test system changes; refine workflows; ensure compliance, accurate mapping, and data integrity; and maintain documentation.
  • Partner on quarterly and year-end financial reporting.
  • Serve on interdepartmental committees, liaise with department and program staff, provide admissions-related information and reporting resources to faculty and staff, and manage special projects.
  • Travel domestically and internationally outside the Boston area for admissions-related events and participate in evening and weekend programming as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience with recruiting and/or event planning is preferred.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, my.harvard, Liaison products including Spectrum EMP and WebAdMIT, Microsoft Word, advanced Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities is preferred.
