Requirements
  • A nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or graduation from an approved LPN/LVN program.
  • A current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an LPN/LVN in the state.
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and to read technical procedures and policy manuals.
  • The ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents.
  • The ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures and the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing care facilities.
  • Leadership and supervisory ability, including the willingness to supervise other personnel.
  • The ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary to provide quality care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
  • Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants and ensure nursing personnel comply with facility policies, procedures, job descriptions, and applicable regulations.
  • Plan shift services, programs, and activities with assigned nursing staff and support personnel.
  • Maintain nursing procedures manuals and participate in quality assurance programs and facility surveys.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents and complete associated forms, reports, census records, and documentation.
  • Review and update resident discharge plans and assist with planning nursing services for discharge.
  • Protect resident health information, user credentials, and facility information systems and report suspected unauthorized access or disclosure.
  • Complete admission, transfer, discharge, accident, incident, and routine medical-record documentation.
  • Receive and transcribe physician orders, maintain resident charts, record nurses' notes, and report discrepancies to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Prepare and administer physician-ordered medications and treatments, verify resident identity, maintain medication supplies and narcotic records, and report discrepancies.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations, determine shift staffing requirements, and recommend personnel actions to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Develop work assignments, provide leadership to assigned nursing personnel, conduct unit rounds, and report problem areas.
  • Ensure nursing assistants and trainees meet training and supervision requirements.
  • Review personnel complaints and grievances and administer departmental disciplinary action fairly.
  • Receive and give nursing reports at the beginning and end of shifts and report occupational exposures, suspected fraud, and safety or security incidents.
  • Inform staff about new admissions, prepare rooms, greet and orient residents and families, and coordinate resident services.
  • Make physician rounds, arrange diagnostic and therapeutic services, consult with physicians, and review resident charts, treatments, medications, diets, and care plans.
  • Ensure prescribed treatments and direct nursing care are properly provided and resident status is monitored.
  • Perform catheterization, tube feeding, suctioning, dressing changes, colostomy and drainage-bag care, specimen collection, vital-sign measurement, range-of-motion exercises, and other professional nursing services.
  • Use restraints when necessary according to policy and care for deceased or dying residents in accordance with procedures.
  • Notify physicians and next of kin of accidents, incidents, or changes in resident condition.
  • Carry out restorative and rehabilitative programs and coordinate social and activity programs with nursing schedules.
  • Inspect and maintain clean, safe, and sanitary nursing and resident-care areas.
  • Check food brought by residents' families or visitors against dietary allowances.
  • Conduct and participate in staff orientation, in-service training, continuing education, infection-control training, safety drills, and advance-directive training.
  • Monitor personnel compliance with safety, infection-control, hand-hygiene, personal-protective-equipment, and equipment-use procedures.
  • Maintain adequate medication, medical-supply, equipment, and personal-protective-equipment stocks and promote efficient use.
  • Review resident care plans, ensure nursing notes reflect care-plan implementation, and assist with MDS, RAP, and Trigger planning and revision.
  • Provide data to the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee as requested.
  • Work in nursing offices, drug rooms, nurses' stations, and resident rooms; respond to interruptions, emergencies, call-back situations, and exposure risks.

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. PACS Group, a leading post-acute healthcare platform, has appointed Dr Patrick Conway to its board of directors. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion.
