Requirements
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
  • Excellent understanding of Java 17 or later fundamentals and frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, multithreading, messaging technologies, and computer networks.

  • Experience with diagramming tools such as PlantUML, Lucid, Draw.io, and Visio, technical writing, the software development life cycle, and agile methodologies.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop robust, high-performance, latency-sensitive code while incorporating security requirements and reviewing team members’ code using software engineering best practices.
  • Write secure, high-quality code and automated tests.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Solutions Analysts, Technical Architects, and Senior Engineers to define technical designs and development approaches.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet timelines with optimal solutions.
  • Refine the technical aspects of epics in collaboration with Solutions Analysts.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring code meets design constraints.
  • Drive architectural reviews, code reviews, and business demonstrations.
  • Assess compliance, risks, and vulnerabilities to ensure systems and baselines are operationally sound, performant at scale, and secure.
  • Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices, including AI-assisted code review and refactoring, test-strategy acceleration, and incident or root-cause analysis support.
  • Establish validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing, and promote reuse of effective engineering patterns.
  • Apply software development life cycle toolchain capabilities, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation tools, to improve automation outcomes.
  • Contribute to team development through recruitment, paired programming, peer review, and mentoring.
