Who You’ll Work With
As a Hardware Support Engineer, you’ll collaborate closely with a dynamic team of hardware and software engineers, as well as our sustaining and manufacturing teams. Your role will involve frequent interaction with cross-functional teams to address and resolve hardware challenges, from first-level failure analysis to supporting prototype distributions. You’ll be a key contributor to ensuring the quality and reliability of our hardware products, working hands-on in a lab environment and using advanced diagnostic tools to support cutting-edge networking solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Conducting first-level failure analysis and bug fixes on shipping ODM and CM products, working closely with the sustaining team.
- Performing PCBA bring-up using tools such as multimeters, signal analyzers, oscilloscopes, and voltage/current sources.
- Executing EDVT measurements and processes.
- Setting up and running network traffic test equipment.
- Supporting EFT shipments and prototype distribution.
- Performing basic PCB component rework and mechanical assembly/disassembly.
- Summarizing data for engineering reviews.
- Supporting simple system debugging, running diagnostic commands, and probing signals with oscilloscopes or multimeters.
- Programming and updating system programmable devices, such as CPLDs, FPGAs, microcontrollers, and onboard power supplies.
Qualifications
- BSEE or equivalent degree
- 10+ years of relevant experience in hardware lab environments, including proficiency with oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Experience in debugging networking hardware.
- Hands-on expertise in reworking connectors, ICs, and passive components such as resistors and capacitors.
- Familiarity with Linux and other command-line environments.
- Experience collaborating with hardware and software engineers to set up and run complex measurements or tests.
- Working knowledge of PC systems.
- Proficiency in assembling and configuring PC hardware.
Compensation Information:
The new hire base pay for this role has a salary range of $59,000 to $90,000. Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location, so that we can offer consistent and competitive pay appropriate to the market. The actual base pay offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location. The pay range provided reflects base pay only and in addition certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses and equity. Employees in Sales roles are eligible to participate in Arista’s Sales Incentive Plan, which pays commissions calculated as a percentage of eligible sales. US-based employees are also entitled to benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings and income protection.
