Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients by greeting and assisting them in a professional, courteous, and compassionate manner.
  • Answer and manage a high volume of incoming and outgoing telephone calls while addressing patient questions, concerns, and appointment requests.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments according to provider templates, clinic protocols, and appointment guidelines.
  • Register new and returning patients by obtaining and verifying demographic, insurance, and contact information.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, obtain referrals and authorizations when required, and ensure all necessary documentation is received prior to appointments.
  • Collect copayments and outstanding balances and process payments in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records within the electronic medical record system.
  • Scan, upload, and organize patient documents, referrals, and outside medical records.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, providers, medical assistants, referral coordinators, and other healthcare departments.
  • Assist patients with appointment preparation, directions, forms, and follow-up scheduling.
  • Monitor provider schedules and make adjustments as needed to maximize clinic efficiency and patient access.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to patient concerns while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of office or clerical experience.
  • Experience with the Epic electronic medical record system.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
