Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a health science; or an associate's degree with one or more neurodiagnostic registries (R. EEG, R. EP, R. NCS); or completion of a Electroneurodiagnostic (END) program that is CAAHEP accredited and one or more neurodiagnostic registries (R. EEG, R. EP, R. NCS) required.
  • Must have a Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Intraoperative monitoring and perform multi-modality complex Intraoperative monitoring for advanced IONM procedures including Cortical mapping, phase reversal, dorsal rhyzotomies and DBS.
  • Must take call.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of complex therapeutic procedures; and ability to make accurate physical observations of patients.
  • Current or ability to obtain Basic Life Support certification as described.
Responsibilities
  • Record neurophysiologic potentials by means of electronic equipment for the diagnosis and prognosis of diseases and conditions involving the nervous system.
  • Demonstrate competence and work under indirect supervision; IONM Coordinator or physician must be immediately available for assistance during all procedures.
  • Perform multi-modality complex intraoperative monitoring for advanced IONM procedures including BAERs, complex scoliosis, carotid endarterectomy, and microvascular decompression (MVD).
  • Provide intraoperative monitoring during surgical procedures to assess real-time neural function and prevent injury.
  • Document findings and maintain accurate records of intraoperative monitoring.
  • Possibly perform cortical mapping and phase reversal as part of complex IONM procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Intraoperative monitoring and competency in performing multi-modality complex Intraoperative monitoring including BAERs, complex scoliosis, carotid endarterectomy, and MVD.
  • Experience with multi-modality complex Intraoperative monitoring for advanced IONM procedures.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a health science; or an associate's degree with one or more neurodiagnostic registries (R. EEG, R. EP, R. NCS); or completion of a Electroneurodiagnostic (END) program that is CAAHEP accredited and one or more neurodiagnostic registries (R. EEG, R. EP, R. NCS) preferred.
